Chiropractic Care

The emphasis of chiropractic is that the body heals itself. It’s not the band-aid that heals the cut. It’s never the pill that cures the cold. The body, when functioning properly heals and maintains itself. Therefore, at HCW we treat each patient as a new case by thoroughly evaluating and diagnosing conditions, rather than administering cookie cutter treatments to all patients. Our job at HCW is to remove any spinal interference that is occurring, so that the nervous system can do its job, which is to maintain your health.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical, traction based treatment for herniated or bulging discs in the neck and low back. Anyone who has back, neck, arm or leg pain caused by a degenerated or damaged disc may be helped by this treatment. Proper assessment and the use of prescribed patterns of decompression encourage disc material to be pulled back within normal limits. This process allows optimal healing to occur.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body in ways to promote natural healing and improve function. This is done by inserting sterilized, stainless-steel needles (that are as fine as a human hair) into specific points located on the surface of the skin which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to treat a wide variety of illnesses. Discuss with the doctor how acupuncture can help you.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a safe and minimally invasive therapeutic technique that involves the use of thin, sterile needles to target trigger points, tight muscles, and fascia. Unlike acupuncture, which is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dry Needling is grounded in modern anatomical and neurophysiological principles. Dry Needling is used to precisely target knots, trigger points, and areas of muscular tension. By inserting the needles into these specific areas, we create micro-traumas that stimulate the body's natural healing response. This process promotes increased blood flow, the release of natural pain-relieving substances, and the relaxation of tense muscles.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an alternative healing technique with potential benefits such as improved blood circulation, relaxation of muscles, and reduced inflammation. By creating suction on the skin using cups, it is believed to promote the flow of energy and blood, helping to alleviate muscle tension and promote overall well-being.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy has a wide range of therapeutic effects on all levels of the body; physical, mental and emotional. It can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and sometimes even reduce blood pressure. A combination of neuromuscular therapy and chiropractic gets you back to good health faster.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Electrical Muscle Stimulation unit sends gentle electrical pulses throughout the muscle. This stimulation reduces muscle spasm while improving blood circulation which reduces pain and promotes healing by oxygenating the cells and removing the toxins.

Ultrasound

A therapeutic procedure that sends sound waves deep into the tissue to disperse unhealthy calcium, decrease swelling and thus speed up the healing process.

Traction

Cox flexion/distraction technique is used to decompress the disc by applying a gentle stretch to specific levels of the spine. It is performed in a series of slow, repetitive motions. This procedure is often used for patients with disc problems such as disc bulge, disc herniation and/or degenerative disc disease.

Therapeutic Exercise

For strength and wellness, this home exercise program is the most efficient way to reach your conditioning goals safely. After achieving improvements in spinal alignment it is necessary to strengthen the soft tissue surrounding the joints in order to support and maintain proper function. This is accomplished through a series of exercises and stretches specific to your condition.
